What will happen with expired condoms?
When a condom is out of expiration it is easy damage during sexual intercourse. Once extended expiry date, the latex of condoms begins to dry which make condom fragile. Also the expired condom becomes non functional due to less effective substance which kills sperms (also known as spermicides). So expired condoms are unable to put off the sharing of bodily fluids of both partners i.e. unable to prevent the passage of sperm and other body fluids into the vagina and vice versa. This causes high risk of conception, and sexually transmitted infections (HIV and other diseases or infections). Here are some common signs of expired condoms.
It has been checked that expired condoms (lubricated and non lubricated condoms) start to loosen their strength and flexibility for what they are meant, and are more workable to break.
Usually condoms are lubricated with silicone lubricants, but when they expire the lubricating material gets lost which results in dried surface and brittle condoms. On the contrary, sometimes condoms are too watery or too sticky to the touch, which shows that condoms are not good and expired or not usable.
Once condom is out of expiration date, it looses its consistency and texture and looks sticky, stiff and dry.
Sometimes condoms get expired well before their date of expiry because of small punctures on the packaging or condom itself due to mishandling during manufacture or transportation. On this conditions, it is advisable to check the outer packaging of the condom by gentle press on the package to feel in and out of air through the package.
Sometimes expired condoms smell strange with an unpleasant odor. Using such a fake condoms may cause allergic reactions.
You should be careful to buy any condom from the shelves as you trust that they are safe for use because the particular store is still putting them on the shelves. You should check for points which the condom has expired before you by it. Best condom manufacturer. Email: linda@oemcondoms.com
