Condom Manufacturing Steps

Usually condoms are manufactured by the straight dipping of former in compounded natural rubber latex. The most preferred material for the manufacture of condoms is natural rubber due to its high elasticity and strength properties. The main process in condom manufacture are as follows,

• Compounding of latex

• Maturation and pre-vulcanization

• Dipping in latex compound

• Partial drying

• Second dipping in latex compound

• Drying, beading and vulcanizing

• Leaching and stripping

• Powder removal (if used)

• Testing and packing
